Two application periods for NFA residential programs
The National Fire Academy has established two application periods for residential programs in an attempt to give priority to the most qualified students.
Under the new policy, there is a twomonth application period for each semester. Applications that are postmarked before or after the specified dates will not be considered. These dates are:
First semester—May 1 to June 30, 1989;
Second semester—November 1 to December 31, 1989.
The change is designed to give the National Emergency Training Center more time to review the applications, as well as develop a more equitable geographic distribution within classes, according to the NFA. It doesn’t, however, affect the policy limiting a student’s attendance to one class for each academic year.
Those applicants not selected for a given semester will be required to submit a new application to be considered for a subsequent semester.
