The Marco Island (FL) Fire Rescue Department replaced a modified fishing type boat with limited firefighting and EMS capability with this better suited one built by METALCRAFT MARINE. Deputy Chief Chris Byrne says the department is in a remote location off southwest Florida with limited U.S. Coast Guard services because of response times. The boat is quartered in and staffed by an engine company.

The Grant Township Fire Department (Mason County, Michigan) uses this SPENCER FIRE APPARATUS brush unit as a first-out for all brush fires. It also responds to motor vehicle accidents and search and rescue calls as it tows an enclosed trailer with a KUBOTA 1100 ATV with track setup, explains Chief Ronnie Melchert. The department covers 15,635 acres of the Nordhouse Dunes and Wilderness Area, 5½ miles of the Lake Michigan shoreline, and sand dunes.

The Bayonne (NJ) Fire Department has in service this large capacity foam tender built by SPARTAN ERV. Chief Gregory Rogers says it provides a “triple threat” in combatting fires with foam, water, and dry chemical. The city has more than 600 storage tanks and transportation hazards by highway, rail, and sea.

  • FREIGHTLINER 114SD chassis with 297-inch wheelbase and three-seat cab;
  • DETROIT DD13 500-hp diesel engine with ALLISON 4000 EVS automatic transmission;
  • HALE 8FG single-stage, 3,000-gpm pump with a FOAM PRO ACCUMAX 3150 and EDWARDS rotary foam concentrate pump two 1¾-inch crosslays and one dead load of 1¾-inch hose for connecting to the dry chemical system;
