BOCA 1999 codes contain revisions

The 1999 editions of the Building Officials and Code Administrators International (BOCA) National Building and Fire Prevention Codes contain revisions in the following areas:

ramps, spaces with means of egress, doors, and general accessibility;

wood-frame construction in high-wind areas;

roof snow loads;

construction in residential care facilities;

unisex toilet facilities;

equipment platforms (separate from mezzanines);

weather protection requirements for exterior walls;

fireworks: definitions, exempt amounts, and regulations for their manufacture, storage, and sale; and

flammable liquids (safe dispensing by container pressurization; aboveground tanks at automotive service stations with public access; fleet-type and marine service stations); and

process ammonia containers and fire-resistant tanks.
