APPARATUS DELIVERIES

The Pasco (WA) Fire Department uses this ROSENBAUER/GENERAL quint as an engine and a truck, explains Battalion Chief Don Donais. The quint also carries rescue tools and is first out on extrications and technical rescues.

  • Commander chassis with 214-inch wheelbase and four-seat cab with medical cabinet;
  • CUMMINS ISX 500-hp diesel engine with ALLISON 4000 EVS automatic transmission;
  • WATEROUS CSU single-stage, 2,000-gpm pump with 1¾-inch front bumper line, two 1¾-inch crosslays, four-inch rear discharge with five-inch Stortz connection, and three-inch rear preconnect to ELKHART R.A.M. portable monitor;
  • UPF 400-gallon water tank;
  • seven wheel well sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders;
  • HURST rescue tool with CUSTOM MACHINE WORKS hydraulic reel in front bumper;
  • MEDTRONIC AED; and
  • light and power with ROSENBAUER Greenstar System, which has idle reduction technology; four FRC floodlights (two each top of cab and at aerial tip); and two COLLINS DYNAMICS spot/floodlights at the base of the turntable.

The Swift Current (Sasakatchewan, Canada) Fire Department replaced a makeshift tanker with no pump with this FORT GARRY FIRE TRUCKS pumper tanker. Chief Denis Pilon says it meets the needs of an annexed commercial area without hydrants and adds a pumper to their fleet.

  • AMDOR roll-up compartment doors and eight wheel well sleeves for spare SCBA cylinders;
  • two ZIAMATIC racks (each rack has a sleeve of hard suction hose; one stores ground ladders and the other stores a HUSKY 2,500-Imperial gallon folding tank);
  • FEDERAL SIGNAL rearview camera;
  • MEDTRONIC AED; and
  • lighting with OPTRONIC light on cab roof, two FRC telescoping floodlights behind cab, and four WHELEN scene lights (two each midship and rear).

The Riviera Beach Fire Company, Pasadena, Maryland, operates this SEAGRAVE tractor-drawn aerial as a truck and a rescue company, says Chief George Smith. The aerial offers more storage space for the inventory and has better maneuverability than a straight-frame vehicle.
