According to a report from CBS4, a vacant church in Wilton Manors, Florida, that was being used for meetings, erupted in flames early Wednesday morning.
The building, located at 1550 NE 26th Street, suffered a roof collapse during the incident.
A nearby resident said that they heard a loud sound, like an explosion, moments before the fire erupted.
Area residents said the building has been used to hold meetings regarding the future of the lot on which it sits, with some discussing the possibility of the it being demolishing for a new development project.
The cause of the fire is still unkown at this time.
