  • The Ashland Grant Fire District in Grant, Michigan, designed its W.S. DARLEY pumper with a poly body to reduce problems with rust, explains Chief Terry Hiler. The topmount pump panel increases safety and ease in operating the deck gun. The pumper is first out for structure and vehicle fires as well as personal injury calls.

  • The West Alton (MO) Fire Department designed this CENTRAL STATES pumper to protect a rural area at the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers that includes homes and small businesses, according to Chief Richard Pender. The department also protects the American Power Plant and Lock and Dam 26 on the Mississippi.

The Moore (OK) Fire Department’s AMERICAN LAFRANCE quint replaces a quint with a 55-foot waterway and a pumper. Chief Charles Stephens says the unit is first out to motor vehicle accidents and complements the department’s small rescue truck.
