  • three 2½-inch FIREMEN’S FRIEND tank fills (two at rear, one on left side) and a rear NEWTON 10-inch dump valve with extension;

  • six WHELEN scene lights (two each on left, right, and rear).

>> The Bible Hill Fire Department, Nova Scotia, Canada, responds first-out with this FORT GARRY FIRE TRUCKS pumper in its hydrant area. Chief Dwane Mellish says that it is the department’s first custom cab that increases firefighter seating and safety. It also has an enclosed pump panel which protects the operator from harsh weather conditions and improves on scene visibility.

  • WATEROUS CSU single-stage, 1,250-gpm pump with top-mount panel, HYPRO Foam Pro 2001 Class A and B system, and two 1¾-inch speedlays;
  • PRO POLY 800-Imperial-gallon water and 25-Imperial-gallon foam tanks;
  • two wheel well sleeves for four spare SCBA cylinders; and
  • light and power with a HARRISON eight-kw hydraulic generator and 10 FRC floodlights (two telescoping midship and eight rear and on tripods).

>> The South Orange (NJ) Fire Department designed this FERRARA rear-mount aerial ladder truck with a low overall height to fit into the station, says Chief Jeff Markey. The low height also facilitates navigating city streets that intersect with New Jersey Transit railroad bridges that are somewhat lower than newer constructed bridges and underpasses.
