The Truckee Meadows (NV) Fire Protection District transitions from urban to rural to wildland interface areas. Battalion Chief Jay Cwiak says the department’s two tankers, built by MIDWEST FIRE TANKER, are designed to perform initial attack, pump-and-roll, nurse pumping, and shuttling activities. The tankers’ smaller size allows for easy maneuvering and operation, better road stability, and reduced maintenance needs. The vehicles complement larger tankers.

Features/Equipment:

  • SPARTAN Metro Star MFD chassis with a 215-inch wheelbase and a five-seat cab with a medical cabinet and a 10-inch raised roof;
