Fire-Safe Design Course

Manhattan College in Riverdale, N.Y. will offer a course entitled, “Fire Engineering,” designed to acquaint the engineering student with the problems of designing fire safe structures. The course is scheduled to begin in September.

Developed with the assistance of Deputy Chief Vincent Dunn, New York Fire Department, the course will also cover ways of dealing with the collapse of fire-weakened structures. An adjunct professor of civil engineering at the college, Dunn will be the instructor.
