JAMES HOWELL has been named chief of the Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Department by the Lee County Port Authority of Fort Myers, Florida. Howell joined the department in 1988 as a firefighter, serving as technician, captain, and battalion chief. As chief, Howell manages all ARFF services at Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field General Aviation Airport. He is responsible for fire prevention and strategy training program development for the 35-member department.
