NFPA and elementary school principals join in fire safety education initiative

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), marking its centennial, has presented 51,000 public elementary schools throughout the United States with a free Sparky`s ABCs of Fire Safety video, oriented toward students from kindergarten through second grade, in time for National Fire Prevention Week (October 6-12) activities and programs. The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP), marking its 75th anniversary, supports the video, which NAESP Executive Director Samuel G. Sava describes as “an excellent education tool for reinforcing fire safety messages with young students.”

Through October 31, 1996, the NFPA is also making copies of the video available to fire departments, educators, and others in the community for $9.95, including the cost of shipping and order processing. The video may be ordered from NFPA, One Batterymarch Park, P.O. Box 9101, Quincy, MA 02269. Enclose $9.95 U.S. funds only.
