The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) appointed Battalion Chief WILLIAM C. PETERS of the Jersey City (NJ) Fire Department as a principal member of the Technical Committee on Fire Department Apparatus. The committee is responsible for developing NFPA standards that set the requirements for construction of new apparatus, aerial ladder testing, and fire pump testing. Peters is a 22-year veteran of and apparatus supervisor for Jersey City and an editorial advisory board member of Fire Engineering.
