FACTORY MUTUAL has awarded the an $826 Arson Fund grant to the Lakewood (FL) Fire Department toward the purchase of camera equipment for on-the-scene arson investigations. The Hattiesburg (MS) Fire Department received a $2,758 grant toward the purchase of video equipment to assist in fire and arson investigations. The Bridgeport (CT) Fire Department Arson Squad received a $500 grant toward the purchase of fire and arson investigation-related technical books. The Connecticut Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators in New Haven received a $1,500 grant for the purchase of audio-visual equipment for training. The Factory Mutual Arson Fund Committee awards grants to nonprofit organizations that fight arson. In 1996, the committtee awarded almost $60,000 in grants throughout North America.
