The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons has updated its RESOURCE KIT FOR EMT INSTRUCTORS.

Designed by EMS educators, the kit provides an overall teaching plan and materials to enhance lectures and presentations. It contains an instructor’s guide, overhead transparencies, 35mm slides, student handouts, updated lists of selected readings and EMS organizations and products, and a bank of questions that directly correlate with the chapters of the fourth edition of the AAOS emergency care text. ■ ICHIEFS, the ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK FOR THE FIRE SERVICE, has expanded to include additional members of the Joint Council. ICHIEFS users can now contact through electronic mail the International Society of Fire Service Instructors, the International Fire Service Training Association, and the International Association of Fire Chiefs.

Also joining the ICHIEFS network is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. NOAA has established a hazardous materials forum that will be used to answer questions and provide technical notes on their haz-mat response software program, CAMEO.
