APPARATUS DELIVERIES

By John M. MaleCKy

The Bossier City (LA) Fire Department designed this FERRARA rescue-pumper for general firefighting and EMS response, says Buddy Caskey, the administrative assistant to the fire chief. The top-mount pump panel provides better scene visibility and keeps the operator off the street and away from standing water around the apparatus.

The trucks are designed to be uniform and carry portable equipment, which can be carried a distance from the vehicle if needed.

The Allen Park (MI) Fire Department uses this PIERCE pumper as an ALS engine and first-line unit to answer all types of calls, says Deputy Chief Douglas LaFond.
