One person died and a fire captain was injured in a Mountain View mobile home fire early Saturday morning.

According to the Mountain View Fire Department, crews were called to the fire in the 400 block of Moffett Boulevard at 5:40 a.m.

During an initial search, firefighters found a resident, who was pronounced dead on the scene. No identity has yet been released, and no other occupants were found inside.

A fire captain was hospitalized for a dislocated shoulder after the floor of the residence collapsed during the response. He was transported to a local hospital, according to the department.

Mountain View firefighters were assisted by the Palo Alto Fire Department and able to extinguish the fire and stop the flames from spreading to neighboring homes.

The department said the mobile home was a total loss, with damage estimated at $250,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
