Camden (NJ) Firefighters Injured in Row House Fire

Three firefighters were injured in an apparent explosion Wednesday in Camden, New Jersey.

According to the Courier-Post (http://on.cpsj.com/wqyULw), the explosion occurred in a row home during firefighting operations there. The firefighters managed to escape the home and were transported for nonlife-threatening injuries to an area hospital.

Firefighters arrived on scene around 10:45 a.m. local time to find heavy smoke coming from the chimney. When firefighters entered the structure’s basement, they were engulfed by a thick cloud of smoke and a series of three explosions occurred.

One firefighter was initially unaccounted for and a Mayday was transmitted, but he was later found.

Two adults and three children were displaced by the fire.
