Chicago Firefighter Dies After Contracting COVID-19

A Chicago (IL) firefighter passed away last month after contracting the coronavirus, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

While on-duty, Firefighter/EMT Michael Pickering responded to several EMS calls with patients with COVID-19. He subsequently contracted the virus and passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021.
