AMERICAN LAFRANCE CORPORATION named Bob Correll director of manufacturing. He will oversee all production operations for the fire and emergency apparatus manufacturer and report to John Stevenson, the company president. A 24-year veteran of the commercial vehicle manufacturing industry, Correll most recently served as facilities manager at Freightliner LLC’s Cleveland, North Carolina, truck manufacturing plant.

FDM SOFTWARE, a developer of public safety software, announced that the city of Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, has agreed to implement FDM’s computer aided dispatch (CAD) and records management system (RMS) software. The Surrey Fire Service, one of the largest composite fire departments in Canada, has 17 fire stations, staffed by 312 career and 270 volunteer firefighters. FDM’s software will assist Surrey in enhancing its service delivery to a population of almost 400,000 and a jurisdiction of 132 square miles.

Using FDM CAD, Surrey will also serve as the regional dispatch center for 200,000 in six local communities. The FDM products will provide enhanced data sharing among these 15 additional stations, staffed by 127 career and 319 volunteer firefighters. These systems will enable Surrey Fire Service dispatchers to process emergency calls efficiently, allocate resources quickly, and record incident data accurately.
