Explosion, Fire at Windsor Mill (MD) Nail Salon Injures Seven, Including Police, Medics

Four Baltimore County (MD) police officers and two emergency medical personnel were among seven injured in a “minor” explosion at a nail salon in Windsor Mill, Maryland, according to reports.

Crews responded to a building fire and hazmat call in the 1700 block of Rolling Road, according to reports from the department’s social media. The Baltimore Sun reported that responders additionally encountered a man said to be in emotional distress who was also injured and transported.

The man in question reported would not leave the premises and ran to the back of the building, after which an explosion occurred. The man suffered life-threatening injuries whereas responders were taken to Shock Trauma with injuries that are not life-threatening.

The fire, stoked by flammable chemicals stored inside the salon like acetone, quickly ignited in the one-story building, but firefighters quickly brought the flames under control, the Sun reported.
