Fallen Firefighter`s memorial pins available

The Maryland State Firemen`s Association has announced that the following Fallen Firefighter`s memorial pins are available for sale to the public: 1990–the original 1990 (limited quantity) and second issue, 1991, 1992, and 1994. The cost per pin is $5.50, including postage and handling.

The pins are presented to the families of fallen firefighters at the annual memorial service held at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland, on the Sunday after Fire Prevention Week. Undistributed pins are set aside for sale to the public. Proceeds from the sales go toward the cost of the next year`s issue. The 1995 issue will be distributed at the October 13, 1996, memorial service. If sufficient funds are received to cover the cost of the 1995 edition, a donation will be given to the Fallen Firefighter`s Foundation.

To order pins, send a check or money order, payable to the Maryland State Firemen`s Association, to Fire Specialist Kaaren Priester, Baltimore County Fire Department Honor Guard, P.O. Box 32305, Pikesville, MD 21208. Include your name, address, phone number, and preference should the pin(s) you request not be available (tear up your check, return the check, substitute another pin, or make a donation to the Foundation, for example). For additional information, contact Priester at (410) 887-4911 or (717) 633-9002. n
