Sep. 16—Firefighters found two bodies and a dead dog after putting out a house fire in Glendora early Monday morning, Sept. 16.

Detectives are investigating the suspicious deaths and suspicious fire, Sheriff’s Lt. Steve De Jong said.

“There is blood evidence in parts of the house,” he said.

The man and dog were discovered in one bedroom and the second body was located in another bedroom, he said. The man had injuries but De Jong declined to elaborate on what kind of injuries they were.

The second body was burned and the gender has not yet been determined, according to the lieutenant.

The man’s wife is deemed missing right now but De Jong said the woman’s car was in the driveway.

The couple who lives at the house in the 700 block of Danecroft Avenue was having marital issues and the woman had recently filed for divorce, De Jong said,

About a month ago, he said Glendora police went to the house on a domestic disturbance call. There was arguing and the husband and wife claimed each pushed the other, De Jong said, adding nobody was arrested then.

Public records show the current house owners are a 71-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman. The medical examiner’s office has not yet identified the bodies.

Police received a 911 call about flames coming from a house in the 700 block of Danecroft Avenue shortly before 2:30 a.m., Glendora Police Lt. Matt Fetner said.

Firefighters put out the fire and found an unresponsive man in the bedroom, a sheriff’s statement said. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The second body was later found.

The house had significant fire damage, sheriff’s officials said. The Los Angeles County Fire Department did not yet have an estimated cost of damages.

Investigators asked anyone with information about the case to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477), or go to lacrimestoppers.org
