Firefighters Support Foundation Publishes Charting Impact Report, Joining a Nationwide Effort to Communicate Results

Firefighters Support Foundation today published its Charting Impact Report. The report demonstrates to FSF’s support base and to the firefighting community its commitment to making a greater difference in the world.

Charting Impact is a nationwide initiative of BBB Wise Giving Alliance, GuideStar USA, and Independent Sector, three organizations that have been leaders in the evaluation of nonprofit and philanthropic organizations for decades.

“We are excited by the Charting Impact initiative,” said Ralph Mroz, the President of Firefighters Support Foundation, “We feel that it is a 21st century way to measure and report out a non-profit organization’s effectiveness, one that reflects the last decade of research and experience in this sector.”

To complete the Charting Impact Report, Firefighters Support Foundation had to define and describe its goals, strategies, capabilities, measures of success, and accomplishments to date.  This framework was developed with input from nearly 200 members of the nonprofit community.  By looking at the actual goals and accomplishments of an organization, stakeholders can gain a much more accurate picture of its effectiveness than old, obsolete and arbitrary measures centered on sterile financial ratios can provide.  Charting Impact is the tool that BBB Wise Giving Alliance, GuideStar USA, and Independent Sector have developed to address this need.

The report is available at http://reports.chartingimpact.org/pdfs/928027/1025959/firefighters-support-foundation.pdf.
