Mayday, Collapse: Four Chicago Firefighters Injured

A floor collapse reportedly injured firefighters operating at a fire early Tuesday in the Jeffrey Manor neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.

On its Twitter feed, the Chicago Fire Department noted that a Mayday was declared during a fire on March 3, 2023.

According to NBCChicago, two firefighters were trapped when a floor collapsed beneath them during the fire in the 2200 block of East 100th Street. One of the firefighters managed to escape on his own, but another member was reportedly trapped “from the waist down with debris” and had to be rescued.

Two other firefighters were also injured, with a total of four transported.
