NORTH SALT LAKE, UTAH – OPSGEAR® CEO David Burnell shares his story about the Japan Recovery Mission – For the Living or the Dead? On March 11th, 2011 a magnitude 9.0 earthquake rocked Japan creating a 500 foot tsunami on the northern coast killing tens of thousands, injuring many more and in the process destroying several nuclear reactors. David Burnell decided to take his decades of training and unique experience to the people lending a helping hand and perhaps most importantly a helping heart. |

For the Air Force Veteran service has always been a part of his life. In January of 2010 he spent weeks in Haiti following the most deadly quake in history! He volunteered his time, talents and money to fund his mission to the devastated country where 300,000 people had perished. Burnell was the Chief of Security for 120 doctors, nurses and translators. “When I first heard of this new disaster in Japan, it was unbelievable to me that there was another epic event like Haiti in such a short period of time. I knew I had to go.” said Burnell. Now, following many requests and questions, Burnell is writing, speaking openly and sharing his very personal experiences about the lessons learned.
