PREPARING THE PUBLIC FOR EMERGENCIES
Literature that can help the public prepare for disasters such as tornadoes and other weather emergencies, flash floods, and hazardous-materials accidents made available to Georgia residents covers many areas, including the following:
- what to do before, during, and after a tornado strikes;
- seeking safety when threatened by lightning;
- preparing Family Disaster Supply Kits;
- creating a family disaster plan;
- preparing tools and supplies, including clothing and bedding, special items (baby supplies, medications, eyeglasses, family documents, etc.), water, food, firstaid kits; and
- agencies from which additional publications relative to preparing for emer-
- gencies can be obtained.
