President Clinton honors fallen firefighters
President Clinton met with key fire service leaders and two families of the firefighters who died in the line of duty in 1995 on October 9, 1996. The meeting marked the opening of the annual ceremonies honoring firefighters who died in the line of duty during 1995. The ceremonies, held on the National Fire Academy campus in Emmitsburg, Maryland, included a Saturday seminar for family members of the fallen firefighters. Professional grief counselors were available to assist them in dealing with their loss.
