DigiTemp Electronics, Inc.: Microprocessor-controlled temperature sensing device mounts inside firefighter`s helmet. One sensor mounts on high-temperature flex membrane cable and measures ambient air temperature. Seven vertically arranged LEDs on cable routed through helmet webbing to outside in firefighter`s field of view. LEDs light up in 20-degree increments starting at 1307F, alerting user to ambient temperature and rate of rise.
