TYLAN GENERAL, INC. of San Diego, California has acquired SPAN INSTRUMENTS of Texas. Tylan manufactures mass flow controllers, gas panel and pressure measurement devices. Span manufactures high-purity monitoring and control instruments. As part of the acquisition, Don Whitson, cofounder and CEO of Span, will join Tylan General as vice chairman, chief administrative officer, and member of the board of directors.
